Hiro Yuky - Japan

Hiro Yuki – Japan – 33 years old – Traveling Indonesia

‘I started to travel when I was 18 years old. It was something I had inside me for a long time and it came up naturally after high school. I had an interest of travel in my mind, I just had to start traveling for this to be part of my life, not only part of my mind.

My first travel was in Thailand. I couldn’t choose better country to start. One month after I arrived in this country, I got addict to the travel thanks to the time I spent in the ‘Shambala Festival’ in Chiang Dao. The place, the people, the environment, everything made me understand how much I had to explore and discover in this world about people and countries.

If I have to define my trip in Thailand I would say ‘LOST’ first. But then I would use the word ‘CURIOSITY’ as it was my first time abroad so everything was new, I had to learn everything and understand how to live with people who have different culture and way of thinking.

When I think again about me when I started this trip fifteen years ago, I can say today that I was really scared. I was on my own, I didn’t know anything about traveling, I was just a new adult.

Later, when I turned 20 years old, I went to India, and once again this trip has been a complete revelation for me. I loved it so much that I had to go back twice to learn more about this country which is located in Asia, but with a culture that you will never find anywhere else in the world. I learnt about the Hinduism religion, the oldest religion in the world which has so much to teach us about our way of life. If someone would ask me to explain this religion, I would say that it is a religion you can’t explain to someone. I think you have to understand by yourself what is it about, not being influenced by anyone or the way people would tell you to practice it. This religion is all about this, understanding yourself and how your life makes sense in this world.

It is the same thing when you travel, don’t try to follow or do the same than others, make your own trip and your own adventure.Because this is what you and people will remember for the future’
Until now, Hiro Yuki visited India, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and Australia. His next destinations will be Canada, and South America.’
