Bonaventure Hotel - Montréal - Oasis

An oasis in the heart of Montreal

The current situation with Covid19 prompted us to stay at home and made me want to try something new: go and rest one night in a hotel in the heart of Montreal and take time for myself. But which hotel to choose?

I have set my sights on the Bonaventure hotel located in the center of Montreal. This hotel has rooms with views of the city or an interior courtyard and a heated swimming pool (sauna and jacuzzi available outside Covid), a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Montreal. So I enjoyed 24 hours of calm and relaxation in a place that I did not know and which was a lovely discovery.

Here is the program for these 24 hours:

3 pm: we had direct access to our great room, a Presidential Suite on two floors with a view of the interior courtyard where the ducks were basking in the sun. Simply by going around the Suite, we were already elsewhere. We had little pies to welcome us, a delicate touch from the hotel.

6 pm: we had booked access to the heated swimming pool (places limited to 40 people due to COVID). As the sun began to set, we enjoyed a real moment of relaxation in the water, which has a constant temperature of 32 degrees celsius.

8 pm: supper! First of all, I must say a big thank you for the service, exemplary and very caring for us. We ordered a salmon fillet, small prosciutto chips, and fresh pasta with a delicious lemon cream, all accompanied by an excellent bottle of white wine. And for dessert, maple pie.

11 am (the next day): the heated swimming pool awaited us again, but this time with a radiant sun and despite the slightly cooler temperatures, we took advantage of the deckchairs to rest.

Noon: Brunch! During the sugaring season, it’s impossible to miss out on a good maple brunch. Our stay at the hotel was no exception since I had the Authentic Maple Brunch with a puffed omelet, bacon, braised ham, donuts, beans, sugar tart, fresh fruit, and toast. And quite honestly, I had a hard time getting up at the end of Brunch.

2 pm – departure: All good things come to an end. We returned home feeling like we had spent an entire weekend outside Montreal, mind and body rested. An experience that I recommend to take your mind off things without necessarily leaving Montreal.
