At the end of the week, many of us want to escape the city to enjoy nature and quiet moments. We then ask ourselves the famous question: where are we going?
We often embark on endless searches to find THE rare pearl within two hours of the city. Look no further; I think I found what you are looking for: a weekend at Sacacomie in the beautiful Mauricie region.
A unique place less than 2 hours from Montreal
Friday evening, 5 p.m., I close my computer and officially declare the weekend open! Less than 30 minutes later, the luggage is in the car’s trunk, and we are heading towards the 40 to leave Montreal behind us.
Around 7:30 p.m., after a snack and bathroom break on the road, we arrive at Sacacomie. First of all, the setting is exceptional; the hotel built entirely of logs blends in perfectly with the forest. Then, we received a very warm welcome. Mickael, present that evening, explained the hotel’s history and informed us about the various activities to enjoy during our stay since the Sacacomie offers all-inclusive packages.
I must also point out that all the staff is very kind, I have rarely seen this.
Enchanting setting and picturesque decor
Once the key to our room is in hand, we head to our cozy little nest without further ado. When I opened the door, I was immediately impressed by the enchanting setting of the room and its picturesque decor. Everything is there: the wooden logs, the lights, and even the jacuzzi in the room but more importantly, the lake’s view from our private terrace. The following day, we fully appreciated the beauty of the place and the lake’s vastness that stretched out in front of us: no surrounding noise, only the song of the birds, a real moment of serenity.
The hotel is in the heart of a 500km² boreal forest and on the edge of a magnificent lake. It is also the only hotel in the area, so you will thoroughly enjoy the peace and beauty of the place.

The significant advantage of Sacacomie is that a vast number of activities are included in your package with your room. So you don’t have to think about your bill constantly.

I could write an even longer article to talk about my experience. Still, I think the best way to appreciate this place is to go there. It was a great weekend for me, and I came out of Sacacomie fully rested and disconnected.
